KRLX mix #74 (5/26/2021)
When DJ Owen and his brother were small, an album entitled “Mass Romantic” was in pretty steady rotation on the Pasley family stereo. Thinking that the band’s real name wasn’t fit for young ears, their parents took to referring to the Neko Case-AC Newman side project as “The New Photographers” or just “The Newpies.”
In the final, not unemotional, episode of Where The Action Was, DJ Owen returned to the music of his youth, playing some Newpies, Blur, and other choice 1990s/2000s indie pop selections. Please join O (retrospectively) as his college radio career comes “To the End.”
