A second-generation KRLX disk jockey who grew up in the House of 40,000+ Songs (as measured by his dad’s ever-growing iTunes catalog), Owen Pasley comes by his encyclopedic knowledge of rock history — and desire to share it with the world — honestly. To name all the musical genres he has a soft spot for (power pop, soul, Brazilian Tropicália, American roots rock, Britpop, punk rock, ad infinitum) would render him a complete jelly.
When not listening to (or playing) music, Pasley is busy completing a major in history and a minor in public policy at Carleton. Should T Bone Burnett not snatch him up as an apprentice music director, this almost-econ major would like to use his knowledge of economic history and superlative research and writing skills to help establish a more just and equitable U.S. economy/polity. (Decision makers at government agencies, think tanks, socially conscious consulting firms, NGOs, etc., feel free to post any info on postgraduation job opportunities in the comments section 😛)
Whether it’s the Wilson-Gorman Tariff or Wilson Pickett, this young man knows his stuff — and wants to tell you all about it. I suggest you open your ears. — Admin
P.S. To partake of even more Pasley-gathered sonic riches, check out his Spotify profile here. And as always, “Please enjoy.”
