KRLX mix #65 (2/18/2021)

Musically speaking, it was the best of times (“Maggie May,” “Baba O’Riley,” “What’s Going On”), it was the worst of times (“Me and You and a Dog Named Boo”).

It was … 1971.

Motown got political, Carole King got mopey, and the Stones got gone (to France, fleeing the taxman) and hooked (on heroin — at least some of them). 1971 may or may not have been The Year That Music Changed Eyerything, but it was a tuneful and tumultuous twelvemonth that’s worthy of exploration. DJ Owen takes you there.
